The road she travelled
She was new here once, too.
Shikha Sharma came to Italy from India as an immigrant, with everything ahead of her to learn, starting with the language itself.
She learned Italian the hard way, passed the exams, and built a life here. For more than ten years since, she has taught what she once had to figure out alone: the Italian language, and the Patente B theory that stands between newcomers and their independence.
She teaches in the languages her students actually think in: Punjabi, Hindi and English, because she remembers exactly how it feels to study in one you don't yet understand. That's the whole idea behind Venturo Patenti.
No one should fail because of the language a test is written in.
